Braintree could be on television if a pilot programme being filmed in the town gets the nod from TV bosses.
Britvoice Productions will be recording a one-off programme, What the People Say, in Braintree on Thursday about current affairs, giving people in the town the chance to express opinions on issues they feel strongly about.
And if it gets commissioned by a television company, Britvoice Productions could be back in town to film other programmes as part of a series, which would be screened in the area
Miff Daniels, a director with the Great Notley-based television and radio production company, said people could talk about anything from schools to sport.
The company moved to Braintree from Soho, London, about a year ago as it is cheaper to run the business, he said.
Braintree was chosen for the pilot because it has a fast-growing town with a mix of people.
