Pupils and staff at the first primary school children to see a special road safety play in Southend have hailed it a success.
Getting the road safety message across - pupils watch the performers Picture: LUAN MARSHALL
Children at Westerings School in Sunnyhill Road, Hockley, were treated to the performance by the Theatre In Action group, arranged by Essex County Council road safety officer Dan Carlen.
The play has been taken to secondary schools in the Southend borough over recent years, but never to a primary school, and it seems likely it will be taken to other infant and junior schools.
Mr Carlen said: "It went particularly well.
"We had them all up there and involved, doing their thing, and I think we got the road safety message across to most of them."
