Thorpe Bay's Alleyn Court School have become champions in no less than five different sports in the space of just one month.

The under-11 soccer team won the Regional ISA five-a-side championship, playing outstandingly well by drawing two and winning the rest of their matches.

The boys' under-10 and under-11 rugby teams won every match to win the triangular play-offs with Plumberow and Grove in the South-East Essex Partner Schools Mini-Rugby Cup finals.

Both Court sides therefore took the Visteon Cup for their age groups, showing tremendous team spirit.

Not to be outdone by the boys, the Court girls beat allcomers to win the Bournes Green netball tournament.

Alleyn Court entered year five and six girls and boys basketball teams for the Southend Primary Schools Basketball Championship at Shoeburyness Sports Centre.

Winning all of their five matches, the Alleyn Court A boys' team defeated Chalfont in the final to win the cup as Southend champions.

In cross-country Alleyn Court has achieved top success in two major events. Representing East Anglia after winning the regional championships, youngsters from the Thorpe Bay School went on to win national glory in the ISA National Championships at Princethorpe College, Birmingham.

Alleyn Court fielded teams from years three to six in the Hobbs Cross Country Challenge at the school.

With 400 children competing in eight races against seven other schools, Court won the overall boys' and girls' titles and the combined teams' Hobbs Shield.
