A man was today recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach during a fight outside a seafront pub.
The stabbing victim collapsed outside Charlie's Bar, on Pier Hill, Southend, at 1.15am yesterday.
The 33-year-old was stabbed in the side of the stomach with a knife. He was being treated in hospital today.
Police were called after reports of a violent fight between two men outside the bar. When they arrived, one of the men had collapsed in a heap, bleeding, outside the Liberty Bell pub, in Marine Parade.
Police want to speak to a group of about six men and women. The suspect is thought to be aged about 21, white with short brown hair.
