Firefighters were called to a travellers' site in Braintree to battle a double caravan blaze.
Two engines from Braintree arrived at the site in Coggeshall Road, Stisted, at about 1.30pm yesterday to tackle fires in two old caravans.
When they arrived, thick black smoke was bellowing from the caravans believed to have been abandoned by the owners.
Crews used two hose reels to control the fire within the hour. Braintree police said they will not be investigating the circumstances of the blaze
