A second-half collapse saw Harlow Town lose further ground on the promotion chasers in Ryman Division One North.

The Essex outfit were two up in their clash with Slough Town on Saturday after first-half goals from Matt Harrold and John Frendo put them in control.

But Slough, themselves still gunning for a promotion slot, fought back in the second period, reducing the arrears through Byron Bubb on 60 minutes, then levelling the match six minutes from time when former Kingstonian man Sammy Winston found the equaliser.

Harlow now sit a full eight points off the second promotion place, currently occupied by Hornchurch.

Elsewhere in the division, Great Wakering Rovers enjoyed a stunning 4-0 away success at Arlesey. Gary Ewers, Dan Trenkel, Dave Collins, and an Andy Theodosiou own goal confirmed an impressive away win that takes Wakering into the top half of the table for the first time this season.

Scott Holding's free-kick for East Thurrock United rescued a point at home to Thame United, while Aveley had to be content with a point also, in an uninspiring 0-0 home draw with Oxford City.

Elsewhere, Tilbury got back to winning ways with a 2-1 over Hertford Town, with Mully and Okita on the scoresheet.

Leaders Northwood need only one more win to confirm promotion. They eased past Wingate & Finchley on Saturday by four goals to one.
