A day of sporting opportunities for disabled people will be held in South Woodham Ferrers on July 13.
Trampolining, badminton and short mat bowls are among activities Chelmsford Borough Council is planning for the event, to be held at the William de Ferrers Centre.
Gillian Blackburn, the council's senior sports development officer, said it was hoped the day would be the first of many for the town: "We are aware there isn't much in the way of sport for disabled people at the moment, so we hope this won't be a one-off," she said.
Would-be participants are invited to just turn up on the day.
Organisations who would like to organise a sport for the event, or anyone who would like to join the council-led Disabled Sports Forum can contact Gillian on 01245 606978.
