Basildon's Stuart Bingham saw his season on the main professional snooker circuit come to an end when he lost 5-3 to fellow Englishman Dave Harold in the first round of the Scottish Open in Edinburgh.
In recent weeks Bingham, who plays out of Leigh's Executive Club, had seen his hopes of making the main stages of the Embassy World Professional Championship come to an end with defeat by Nigel Bond.
Then he went out to former world champ Ronnie O'Sullivan in his opening match in the Irish Masters in Dublin.
