Buses will be barred from Chelmsford town centre today while the Earl and Countess of Wessex attend a service at Chelmsford Cathedral to commemorate the 1953 Great Flood disaster.

Duke Street will be closed from approximately 11am until 3pm and buses will be diverted from Duke Street to Victoria Road South and Parkway.

The cathedral and Wetherspoon's stops in the town centre will both be out of action and nearest alternatives are the railway station - services 41, 42, 45, 47, 51, 54 and 56 and bus station - services 14, 15, 25, 31A, 31/31X, 32, 36, 40, 43, 50, 52/52A, 71, 72, 73A, 100, 351, plus Stansted Diamond

All services except 14, 15, 32, 42, 100 and 351 will also stop at Parkway.
