Snow has brought travel chaos to the county.
Roads including the A12 and M11 have became gridlocked due to the bad weather with some drivers being stuck in their cars overnight on Thursday.
Police distributed hot drinks to those motorists who became trapped along the M11.
Train services were also affected last night with some services from London being delayed for up to two hours.
Schools across the county were closed today and Stansted Airport is not due to reopen until lunch time.
Homes in the county were also left without power overnight with company 24seven battling the elements to restore electricity.
Further updates will be available on site later today and further information is available in today's Evening Echo and Evening Gazette newspapers
