Officials from Sopot, Southend's Polish twin town, met local artists to discuss plans for this summer's event, in which more than 30 artists will take part.
Sopot's mayor, Maciej Rusek, led the visit to the Old Leigh Studios, in the old town, where he was introduced to artists from the area.
It is hoped Polish artists will travel to Leigh to add their work to the showcase which draws more than 4,000 visitors. The event will run for a week from June 7.
