A Colchester woman is planning to hitch-hike all the way to Morocco in aid of charity.
Lucy Bond, 21, of Butt Road, will begin the 1,600-mile journey in Cambridge.
The trip will raise money for Link Community Development, which supports education in Africa by training teachers
Miss Bond's friend took part in the hitch-hike last year and is a representative of the charity this year.
Miss Bond, who works at the job centre in Stanway as a benefits processor, said: "I've never done anything like this before."
She has already raised the £300 necessary to take part in the event and all the money she is sponsored will go to the charity.
"I would like to raise a lot more," Miss Bond said.
Anyone who would like to sponsor Miss Bond can call her on 07799 143563.
