A fallen tree caused a road to shut for more than half-an-hour.
The strong winds toppled the tree in Hullbridge Road, between Rawreth Lane and Watery Lane on the borders of Rayleigh, at about 8pm yesterday.
Sgt Kevin Diable-White said: "Police closed the road and alerted council workers who chopped up the tree.
"The road was reopened well within the hour.
"Due to the time of evening the traffic was fairly light so the incident caused minimal traffic disruption."
