Alun Armstrong has been ruled out of Ipswich Town's showpiece friendly at Harwich.
The striker - the most experienced member of the squad - was set to lead the line in tonight's clash at the Royal Oak.
But he is still being plagued by a tight hamstring and boss Joe Royle today revealed he will not be making the trip to Essex.
Armstrong : Ruled out of showpiece clash
Royle said: "Unfortunately, Alun isn't going to be fit for the game.
"He's been troubled with this injury for some time so we've ruled him out.
"I wanted to send a stronger side for the game but circumstances have forced my hand."
Royle is officially opening the Shrimpers' new changing rooms before the game, which kicks off at 7.45pm.
