A lucky lorry driver is swapping traffic jams for a sandy beach after scratching his way to a £5,000 holiday-of-a-lifetime.
Alan Wing, 41, of Daiglen Drive, South Ockendon, is jetting wife Margaret and his three daughters off to the Dominican Republic after hitting the jackpot in the Lotto's newest scratchcard Holiday Bonanza.
Mr Wing, who works for Biffa Waste Management, discovered his win after buying a card at Swami Newsagents, in London Road, Grays.
He said: "I couldn't believe it when I realised I had scooped the top prize. I had to get the newsagent to double-check I had won."
