Politicians of the next generation are being encouraged to stand in the Essex election for the UK Young People's Parliament.
Successful candidates will represent the views of the county debating a range of issues affecting young people, including leisure facilities, transport and the environment.
A spokesman for Essex County Council said: "The parliament has no party political view and was set up to empower young people to make positive changes in the community."
The elections, which are held annually, will result in the appointment of six new members, who will enjoy a one-year term of office along with six deputies.
Members, who will receive full training and expenses, have to be between 11 and 18 years old and live in Essex.
Application forms are available on 01245 430652. The deadline for entries is February 17
