Lee Grant claimed his first hat-trick of the season as Hullbridge B beat Rawreth B 6-3 in the Premier Division of the Southend and District table tennis league.
Southend Police's Chris Jacob was not as fortunate however, as his maximum could not prevent his side losing 5-4 at Rawreth C.
In Division One, George Pavitts' trio of wins inspired Canvey B to a 6-3 triumph over St Peters A. Forum B defeated Lentern B by the same scoreline.
Eddie Hodson and Don Baker both helped themselves to trebles in Division Two as Runnymede A thrashed Invicta C 8-1 to close the gap at the top.
Second-placed Canvey D won 6-3 at Rawreth H in Division Three, with Bob Shingleton-Smith grabbing a hat-trick for the Islanders.
And in the in-house derby clash, Forum F just got the better of their E team. Terry Morris with a trio, backed up by a brace from David Gowers, secured this close encounter 5-4.
