Armed robbers have made off with a sustantial amount of money after a raid at Wivenhoe post office.
A female cashier at the shop in the High Street was forced to hand over cash during the raid on Friday afternoon after three men burst into the shop and demanded money.
One of the men was holding a silver coloured handgun.
The trio were thought to have fled to nearby Wivenhoe train station and jumped on a Clacton bound train.
Armed response units hunted for them at Clacton and Wivenhoe but so far there have been no arrests.
