Campaigning youngsters are celebrating after plans for two new skateboard parks in Castle Point got the green light.
For years, youngsters have used town centres to hone their skateboarding skills but two dedicated centres are now in the pipeline.
Castle Point councillors have given the provisonal go-ahead for a £125,000 Legacy XS complex at the South Benfleet playing fields and another scheme for a £104,000 park on Canvey.
James Cawfield, 15, from Protea Way, Canvey, who has campaigned for new facilities, said: "We are looking to build a professionally designed skateboard and BMX park."
