Residents in Colchester have called on bus chiefs to lay on a new service between one of the town's major estates, Colchester General Hospital and Leisure World.
The idea was touted at a meeting between disgruntled bus users in Greenstead and bosses at Arriva over changes to the 1 and 1A service.
Arriva changed the route 1 and 1A so it no longer travels down the entire stretch of Hickory Avenue.
As well as expressing concern about the changes, residents at the meeting, held at the Old Centurion, in Greenstead, called for a new service to be run from Greenstead to the hospital, in Turner Road, via Colchester Leisure World.
Don Quinn (Lab, St Andrew's) said a route which went from the estate to the hospital would be profitable for any bus firm because of the number of elderly people who would both want and use such a service.
A spokesperson for Arriva was unavailable for comment.
