Flamboyant neckwear will help raise awareness and funds to help beat bowel cancer during next week's loud tie campaign.
The Beating Bowel Cancer charity is asking men to wear loud, flamboyant ties and women to wear weird and wonderful scarves or ties in exchange for making donations.
Last year, £874.87 was raised at Colchester General Hospital towards the cost of diagnostic equipment.
So far this month, £360 has been raised by a quiz night at the Old Queen's Head, Aldham.
Colorectal nurse specialist Anna Wordley, said: "We've already made a magnificent start.
"Every penny raised will go towards the cost of diagnostic equipment."
Ms Wordley will be at the Healthy Colchester Centre in Trinity Street on Tuesday between 1pm and 4.30pm to talk to people about bowel issues, including bowel cancer, constipation, irritable bowel disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, piles and diverticular disease.
An information display will run throughout the week in Colchester General Hospital.
If you want to make a donation to the charity, go to any Barclays Bank and pay money into the Beating Bowel Cancer Loud Tie account, sort code 20-72-17, account number 20492302.
