Police on Canvey are investigating the theft of a school's laptop computer worth more than £1,000.
The machine was stolen from a classroom in Winter Garden Junior school in Hilton Road, Canvey.
Sgt Kevin Diable-White said: "One of the cleaners at the school saw an unknown male wandering around at about the time of the theft.
"Anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously at the school at about 4pm last Tuesday should call police on 01268 511212."
