Steven Jay has been called up for the England under-18 rugby squad for the home international series to be held in Edinburgh from April 19 to 25.
The 16-year-old Greensward College student plays for Rochford Hundred and also turns out for Northampton Saints.

Scrum-half Steven is the son of a former well-known rugby name locally, Nick Jay, and having made the squad is hoping to earn a place in the starting line-up come April.
Greensward head of PH Tony Mescall said: "It's a fantastic achievement for Steven to have earned this selection.
"I like to think that what he has achieved is testimony to the close rugby links we have built-up with the Rochford club."
