East Thurrock United and Great Wakering Rovers will be going into action on the back of splendid weekend successes when they clash at Rookery Hill tonight in Ryman Division One North.
While Rovers -- who have lost just once in seven league games -- climbed up to 14th place with a 2-1 win at Oxford City, Rocks pulled off one of their best results of the term by seeing off promotion-chasing Yeading 3-2 at home.
Wakering are likely to still be without ex-Football League star Stuart Munday through injury, but will hope to see Darren Twidell continue the kind of inspirational midfield form which helped his side to victory at the weekend.
Ex-Leyton Orient man Terry Howard will be free from a two-match ban to resume his defensive duties if required.
Thurrock have been suffering a torrid season and before last weekend had not won at home in the league since September.
But enthusiastic boss Lee Patterson will be keen to see his side continue a run which saw them climb a place to fourth from bottom with their unexpected weekend triumph.
That victory saw new striker Keith Martin making a scoring debut, which suggests that he could have a significant part to play in their bid to escape trouble.
Ryman Division One North Aveley search for a spot in the semi-finals of the Essex Senior Cup tonight when they visit Jewson Eastern Counties Tiptree United.
