Pupils and staff at Philip Morant school showed that charity really does start at home when they raised cash for two prominent charities.
The school decided to make the Wish Upon A Star charity the focus of its Christmas fundraising and collected £5,000.
The charity is dedicated to sending terminally ill children on a holiday of a lifetime and a range of activities was organised to raise the cash.
As well as asking pupils to each pay £1 to not wear school uniform for the day, staff also organised a raffle.
Other students held their own activities, such as offering to sell kisses, a mistletoe sale and collections from friends and family.
The school also raised money for the St Helena Hospice and raised more than £1,000.
