Car thieves have torched another two vehicles at a Basildon retail park.

Fire crews called to the Heron retail park in Miles Grey Road found the cars, one on its roof, wel alight.

Fire investigator Jack Imrie, of Basildon fire station, said it was a common way for car thieves to remove clues.

He said: "Most Saturday nights we'll be called to one of the retail parks.

"The car crooks drive about, putting stacking cases under the back wheels of front-wheel drive cars and skid about. When they've finished, they set them alight."
