A teenage hairdresser today told of her terror when a pint-sized pervert tried to pull her trousers off while she was at work.

Lucy Towler, 19, of Hall Crescent, Hadleigh, was alone in the Class @ Last hair salon in Kiln Road, Thundersley, when she was indecently assaulted.

The culprit came in pretending he wanted his hair cut and when the young stylist turned her back he yanked at her trousers.

Lucy said: "I thought there was something strange about him because he looked as if he had just had his hair cut.

"He asked for a number two but I said his hair was too short. I turned my back for a second and the next thing I knew he grabbed me around the waist and was tugging at my trousers.

"I screamed and pushed him and he stumbled back, looked at me then walked out of the shop."

Salon manager Susan Clare said her own mum was rushed to hospital on Friday morning and that was the only reason Lucy was in the shop by herself.

She said: "Usually there are at least two people in the shop at any one time, this was an exception because of what happened to my mum."

The attacker is white, stocky, 5ft tall and aged between 30 and 35. He was unshaven and had short shaved brown hair, gelled on top, brown eyes and wore a black jacket.

Witnesses should call police on 01268 756221.
