Off-duty policemen will take an old fashioned view of justice when they arrest 15 local people and throw them in the dungeons of Colchester Castle today.
But the hard-line tactics are all in the name of charity and the 15 detainees will be volunteers hoping to each raise £500 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
After being handcuffed and locked up with only a mobile phone and no food or water, they will each need to raise the cash to secure their release.
The money raised will go to the foundation, which is an international charity, which came to the UK in 1986 to grant wishes to children living with life-threatening illnesses.
It currently grants a wish a day and has granted a total of 2,450 since it began.
The stunt, today, will mark the start of the charity's awareness week.
