Young guns Darren Bent and Darren Ambrose were dreaming of play-off glory today after joining forces to torment Preston.
Ipswich Town's deadly duo emerged from the bench to help turn the course of Saturday's 3-0 triumph at Portman Road.
Ambrose was the provider for his best pal, laying on two goals in the last 17 minutes.
But it was Bent having blasted his tally for the season into double figures who emerged with most credit after exorcising the demons of last week's misses at Burnley.
He told the Evening Gazette: "It was a great day to be out there because we had so much possession.
"The ball kept getting played forward and I was in my element, constantly trying to get behind the defence.
"Credit to Darren for his part in my goals. Having played in the same youth team over the years has definitely stood us in good stead."
Delighted with his own contribution, Ambrose admitted he is dreaming of his own scoring glory - in the play-off final at Cardiff.
"We're going all the way and I'm going to score the winning goal," he said.
