Superb goals from Tommy Dalgarno and top scorer Dan Trenkel saw Wakering take their run to just one defeat in seven games and move up to 14th spot in the Ryman First Division North table.

Oxford, who had lost just once in 11 previous home games, took a 15th minute lead through Danny Wise.

But a sweet flowing move, started by John Heffer and continued by the inspirational Darren Twidell, saw Dalgarno level after 38 minutes past ex-Football League goalkeeper Steve Benbow.

Rovers were without their own former league star Stuart Munday due to injury, but took the lead after 57 minutes with Twidell again at the heart of the action.

He sent Mark Hampshire clear and the latter's cross was converted in fine style by Trenkel.

Dalgarno demonstrated the tremendous spirit among the visitors by coming back on with a Basil Fawlty-style bandage round his head after suffering a cut in an accidental collision.

He almost laid on a third for Alan Hull's men when he crossed for Hampshire to shoot over from close range.
