The Manics are taking to the NME stage to celebrate an impressive 13 years as one of the UK's most vital bands.

The V'99 headliners return to showcase the best tracks from an illustrious career that has brought a mightily impressive 27 Top 40 hits including 'Design For Life', 'Motorcycle Emptyness' and 'Everything Must Go'.

A Greatest Hits album, 'Forever Delayed', is due on 28th October, preceded by the release of the Manics Street Preachers' first single in over a year on October 14th, so expect to relive the best Manics moments at V2002.

A single title and album tracklisting are due to be announced shortly. A book of exclusive Manics images, also entitled 'Forever Delayed', will also be released around the album, photographed by their longtime visual accomplice Mitch Ikeda.

V2002 Festival Director, Bob Angus commented: "We're really pleased to have secured the performance of such a high profile headliner for the NME Stage this year.

The Manic Street Preachers are one of the UK's most important bands and top off the bill very nicely, alongside the other major Welsh rock band, Stereophonics who headline the V Stage. V2002 is all set to be the best V festival yet. I'm looking forward to it!"
