Another accident has taken place at a notorious blackspot where campaigners have been fighting to have the speed limit cut.
A 24-year-old man had to be freed from a Peugeot 306 car, which ended upside down in a ditch on Ashes Road, Cressing at 8.06am today.
Firefighters were called to the accident and used cutting equipment to free the driver who came from Halstead.
He was then taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, suffering from back pains, his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
The accident happened just yards from where floral tributes still lay for 18-year-old Joseph Wright, of Munro Road, Witham, who died in a car accident last year.
Villagers had been campaigning for a reduction in the speed limit from 60mph to 40mph on the road for several years.
