They're neighbours rather than friends, but Purfleet will reckon it's about time that Grays did them a favour.

In the past two seasons Blues have knocked out Fleet from both the FA Cup and FA Trophy, as well as having taken three league points off them less than a month ago.

Now Mark Stimson's side have the opportunity to enhance the championship prospects of the men from the Thurrock Hotel by defeating league leaders Aldershot at the Rec tomorrow.

"Grays seem to be able to get up for the big games so they are capable of beating Aldershot. I certainly hope they do," said Fleet boss Colin McBride.

McBride's main task this week has been to track down an experienced and available goalkeeper.

Alex O'Reilly, whose blunder proved crucial in the 2-1 defeat to Grays, is suspended for the game at Bishop's Stortford.

Among the keepers McBride has enquired after is Fraser Digby who has over 500 Football League appearances and recently turned down an offer from Southend.

And if Digby can help prevent Fleet sinking to a fifth straight away defeat it will be just the tonic the club needs.

"We were desperately disappointed by the Grays result and I don't believe we deserved to lose," said McBride who bemoaned the absence of cup-tied striker Tresor Kandol.

He returns for Bishop's Stortford, although there's a doubt over Jon Keeling because of a back problem.
