Joe Keith is ready to make Second Division leaders Wigan Athletic pay the penalty if they slip up against Colchester United tomorrow.
The cocky Cockney says he will still be at the front of the queue to take any spot-kicks, despite missing out for the first time in his career in last week's 2-1 home defeat to Crewe Alexandra.
"I'm definitely taking the penalties if we get any," said the former West Ham defender.
"I know I said somebody else could take them after the Crewe keeper saved my one last week.
"But I've been taking them in training this week and am really up for it again."
Keith, who once slotted home a vital spot-kick for the Hammers' youth team in a crucial cup final, has already scored twice from penalties this season.
Keith's decision will come as good news to U's boss Steve Whitton, who was planning to talk over the situation with the player on the trip to Wigan.
He said: "If Joe wants to take the penalties I've got no problem with that.
"But we've got a tough game ahead of us against a team that has won its last ten League matches and has remained unbeaten in the last 20.
"What greater incentive could we ask to go and beat them!"
The U's are still awaiting Arsenal defender Liam Chilvers' international clearance and it looks unlikely that he will travel.
