Leigh soccer hero Steven Heffer was back at his Southend office within hours of enjoying one of the greatest nights of his footballing life.
Heffer, who lives in Fastnet with his wife Dawn and new son Jack, was a member of the non-league Dagenham and Redbridge side which pulled off a major FA Cup giant-killing on Tuesday evening.
For the Nationwide Conference side, managed by South Woodham's Garry Hill, knocked out Nationwide League Plymouth Argyle 2-0 in a third round replay at their Victoria Road home.

It followed the thrills of a 2-2 draw in the West Country in the original game ten days previously and Heffer, who is part of the Customs and Excise development team at their Victoria Avenue, Southend, headquarters, admitted that both games had been memorable.
He said today: "We've had some great times here at Dagenham in the FA Cup over the past couple of years, but I think this tops the lot."
