A man has been arrested in connection with an incident which led to minor injuries to two police officers and severe damage to the police car they were travelling in.
Police in Billericay were called to an incident outside the Alldays convenience store in Stock Road where a Honda 4x4 estate was used to attempt to ram-raid the front of the store, but was stopped by concrete posts in front of the shop.
Wickford police officers, PC Mark Shaw and Acting Sgt Mark Van Ingen were left shaken and with minor injuries after the driver of the stolen silver vehicle reversed in to their car when they tried to stop it.
A 25-year-old man from Norfolk is helping police with their inquiries.
