A barmaid and mother-of-three has lost her fight against the club that sacked her for gross misconduct.
An industrial tribunal heard how June Ross, 51, was sacked from her position as bar person at the Comrades Sports and Social Club in Clacton after being accused of stealing £7.50 worth of vodka and wine while working. She denied the allegation.
The tribunal heard the club did a stock take of the bar on June 17 last year after the bar manager noticed a number of shortages in stock and the morning till roll showed £7.50 worth of drinks unpaid for.
A disciplinary hearing was held by the company and she was dismissed.
Pub treasurer Brian Rowlen said the club had to let her go.
Mrs Ross said: "I find it very hard that I have been accused of this because I have always been of an excellent character."
The tribunal found in favour of the club.
