The Alexandra Angling Centre report that Southend boats have still been enjoying fair sport with a mixture of codling, thornbacks, whiting and some good-sized dabs being taken.
Bradwell and Crouch boats have still been taking codling with an average size of 2-3lbs. They've also had a few dabs and whiting.
There have been plenty of small fish from the Pierhead with the odd better-sized dab being landed.
There's a good chance of codling for night anglers. The Pier stem has been producing a few flounders from inshore marks.
The recent cold weather has not helped things from Southend beaches with just a few flounders, small whiting and odd schoolie being taken. This week's bigger tides and warmer weather should see an improvement.
Stanford, Grays and East Tilbury are still fishing fair with flounders, smelt and the odd codling making up bags.
