The Ipswich swimmer handed out more than 800 certificates on a busy night at the Paddocks, before giving a rousing speech telling the talented athletes to chase their dreams.
Karen presented special plaques to the Canvey swimmers who attended national competitions in 2002 - Phil Whitehead, Adam Puddick, Keeley Spooner, Ben Preston, Aimee Drake, Chloe Williams and Chris Chenery. Phil, Keeley and Chloe all won gold medals.
Chief coach Rob Park then asked the distinguished visitor to hand out his special awards for the year.
