Wat Tyler Country Park is offering residents a chance to take part in a conservation project.
Participants will learn the art of coppicing - how to cut back scrub in a manner which encourages ground flora to flourish, which in turn sustains other wildlife.
The event runs from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, January 18. All tools and instructions will be provided by Basildon District Council's Countryside Services.
