Nabil Abidallah today revealed his burning ambition to pin down a regular first-team spot at Ipswich Town.
The Dutchman had become the forgotten man of Portman Road since his brief flirtation with the first-team in 2000.
Now he is back in the reckoning, though, after being on the bench in the last two games and making a cameo appearance against Morecambe.
And he told the Evening Gazette: "Being involved again is just fantastic. I feel so positive.
"I didn't really fit in under the old manager but I never thought about leaving because I was always confident I could fight back.
"Now we have a new man in charge and he's been brilliant for me already.
"Joe Royle has come in with fresh ideas and opinions and every player has started with a clean slate.
"Each of us has an equal chance to prove ourselves and I'm determined to stay involved. I only have to look at one of my fellow Dutchmen to see the difference he's made. Fabian Wilnis is playing brilliantly and fully deserves the credit he's getting."
