Experts were today probing the cause of a massive blaze which destroyed an Indian restaurant in Basildon.
Up to 15 firefighters faced searing heat and billowing smoke as they tackled the fierce fire at Asia Spice in Cranes Farm Road early today.

Its owner stood helplessly as flames swept through the building, razing much of it to the ground.
Abi Mohsemi, who has run the business for four years, said he was "lost for words".
He said: "It's devastating - the building is destroyed.
The fire started at around 5.45am. Witnesses reported plumes of smoke over the Basildon skyline and up to five fire crews were sent to quell the blaze at its height.
Fire investigators are yet to establish the cause of the blaze and are expected to continue investigations during the next two days.
