The time has come to get your running shoes out and start shaping up to help raise thousands of pounds for good causes in the Brentwood Charity Half Marathon and Fun Run.
And this year's 22nd annual event might be the biggest yet.
Last year more than 2,000 runners took on the demanding 13 mile half marathon or the three mile fun run and it is hoped that on Sunday, March 16, even more will take on the challenge.
Chairman of the Brentwood a Becket fund raising team, Richard Thatcher, said: "Last year £15,000 was raised for local charities and we are hoping to enjoy similar success again this year. "
He is hopeful the entry will be swelled thanks to a change in the fun run course and through closer links with the Amateur Athletics Association (AAA).
Mr Thatcher added: "By working closer with the AAA we believe more people will find out about our event and take part. The half marathon is a great warm up for people preparing for the London Marathon."
Mr Thatcher added he was also seeking a sponsor for the event and urged interested parties to step forward.
