It's been all change for Jewson League division one side Halstead Town.

Promotion rivals Long Melford have snapped up their experienced midfielder Nik Guyon, while four new faces have arrived at Rosemary Lane.

But the changes do not phase Halstead assistant manager Andy Clark.

Clark, whose team take on Cornard in tonight's re-arranged East Anglian cup second round fixture, told the Evening Gazette: "I wish Nik all the best, he had the opportunity to move on so we couldn't stand in the way.

"But we are not too worried about it as we have brought in other players over the Christmas period to strengthen the squad."

Veteran Steve Parnell has returned to Town, while David Kenyon has come in from local promotion chasers Stanway Rovers.

John Jorgenson has been signed from Whitton United and Colchester United youth team player Ben Cranfield has come on loan to boost the options up front and could make his debut tonight.

Clark, whose side lie fourth in the league, added: "We've been looking for extra players up front and now I feel the squad situation is the best it's been all season."

Clark is expecting striker Steff Kendall to be fit to return to action in the next fortnight.

Kendall has been out with an ankle injury since October and his return will be a real boost.

Apart from the sidelined Kendall, Halstead will be without Grant Strong, who is suspended.
