A scooter club has said thank you to Essex Air Ambulance for turning out to help one of its members by presenting the service with a charity cheque.
Essex Patriots Club handed over £200 at a ceremony at the Gun pub, in London Road, Pitsea, which it uses as a base.
The money was raised with a charity social evening to which members of other scooter clubs were also invited.
The air ambulance helicopter flew to the scene when club member Kim Pumphrett was involved in a scooter accident which left her with a severe foot injury.
Kim of Love Lane, Aveley, said: "I never actually went in the helicopter, I was already in the road ambulance when it arrived. But I was very grateful for it turning out for me. I know how costly it is every time it makes a journey."
The evening also raised £200 for Assert, a charity which helps victims of Angelman's Syndrome.
