Swifts shattered Worthing's 100 per cent record to clinch one of their finest ever victories in the NBL Women's Division South.
Facing Australian guard Kirsty Dallas -- one of the league's star players -- Swifts knew they would have to be on top of their game and started at a high tempo.
Talia Smith rattled up 10 points and Vikki Willmore nine in the first quarter as Southend picked up a 27-12 advantage.
But Dallas led a revival in a 14-1 run for Magic as they dragged themselves level at halftime.
Soon Worthing were ahead, and it looked as if the form-book would prevail.
But Swifts' Jo Andrews inspired a revival to lead them to a ten-point lead as the game reached its finale.
Another Andrews three-pointer settled the nerves, and both Smith and Hannah Wilhelmy kept the pressure on despite a rally from Dallas.
