Billericay's Mayflower Morris Men have been out in force in the town centre to kick off the new year with a display of their art.
Crowds gathered to see the group dancing a traditional favourite, Speed the Plough, behind Waitrose supermarket, in the High Street.

The skills of the morris men were on show for several hours on Saturday morning, with the procession moving from Waitrose on to Billericay Library.
New members are also being encouraged to join the merry morris men.
The group's practice night is on Thursdays during school term at Noak Bridge Village Hall, Laindon, from 8pm to 10pm.
