New bike racks are planned for Dovercourt town centre to make it more cycle-friendly.
Michael Reeder, assistant town centre manager, said three spare parcels of land were being looked at for the cycle parks.
It is hoped one would be located at the old unemployment exchange on the junction with Hill Road and High Street.
Facilities at the Harwich library, Kingsway, have been earmarked for improvement with the provision of two sets of cycle racks.
A third site is also being negotiated on the stretch of Kingsway leading to Dovercourt station.
The idea is being steered by the Dovercourt town centre management and Tendring Council, which is expected to fund the project.
