Andy Marshall blamed 'inexperience' on his part after conceding a crucial penalty in Ipswich Town's 1-1 draw at Burnley.
The Blues were forced to settle for a share of the spoils after missing a host of chances and being pegged back at Turf Moor on Saturday.
Pablo Counago poked them in front but it was a second-half flashpoint which allowed the Clarets to salvage a point, when keeper Marshall tripped Ian Moore.
And the shotstopper told the Evening Gazette: "I didn't have too many arguments about the decision.
"It was down to inexperience on my part.
"I should have known better in terms of coming out and committing myself but I genuinely believed I had a chance of nicking the ball."
Town boss Joe Royle said: "We had enough chances to win but this wasn't a bad result against a side which has already beaten Spurs, Forest and Wolves.
