Mike Agombar is certainly in the major league when it comes to junior football in America.
The nine-year-old moved from Billericay to the States with his family 18 months ago and has quickly shown the Yanks how to play soccer.
Former St Peter's School pupil Mike beat 160,000 American children to claim the Pepsi Dribble, Pass and Score competition for boys aged eight and nine.
"Not only did he receive a fully paid trip to Boston for the final but he was also on TV at the Major League Soccer gala awards," said proud mum Colette.
"Mike has been on the TV in America as Nickelodeon ran a program about the competition.
"He was given his trophy by US World Cup star Landon Donovan and has also been in several papers in the US."
Colette and her husband Paul moved to Chicago in 2001. Mike quickly joined a local team before entered the Pepsi competition.
The schoolboy's mastery of dribbling, passing and scoring saw him beat around 10,000 other youngsters to win the Midwest regional stage.
